Egypt could be his Wheat imports increase to 2024 million tonnes in the 25/11 crop year from 2023 million tonnes in the 24/11,22 season. This forecast was announced by experts from the Foreign Agricultural Service of the US Department of Agriculture (FAS USDA).
The experts expect a 2% increase in grain purchases amid population growth and the “availability of more foreign currency in Egyptian banks.”
At the same time, according to the agency's forecasts, the country's wheat harvest will increase slightly over the year - from 8,87 million tons to 9 million tons. However, ending stocks of the grain are expected to fall significantly - from 3,51 million tonnes to 2,48 million tonnes.
