The production of Sunflower oil in Ukraine in the 2022/23 season can be 4,5-4,7 million tons. This was declared in the Union of Vegetable Oil Producers “Ukrolyaprom”, reports Reuters.
In the new season, the production of Sunflower oil in Ukraine to 6 million tons as farmers plan to clear land under the sunflower to enlarge.
Ukraine, which before the Russian invasion was the largest producer and exporter of Sunflower oil in the world can export between 2022 and 23 million tons of sunflower oil in 4,4/4,5.
It should be noted that Ukraine sent 2020 million tons of sunflower oil for export in the 21/5,3 season. The association has not provided data for 2020/21.
Recall that in March 2023 Ukraine sent for export the maximum volume of sunflower oil for the last 14 months – 524 thousand tons (+28% on the previous month). The increase came on the back of an increase in shipments in the EU (+47% up to February), China (+25%) and the resumption of shipments to Iraq after a three-month hiatus.
