In 2022, Ukraine harvested the lowest pea crop in the last 10 years


Due to the all-out war, Ukraine lost significant areas of pea production, which led to significant crop losses of this agroculture. This was reported on May 8 by the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine.

«It is a question of regions which were leaders – pea producers in the country – Nikolayevshchina, Khersonshchina, Zaporozhye, Donbass, Kharkovshchina. In this ZusaIn 2021, the last harvest of this crop in Ukraine was twice less than in the pre-war year and amounted to only 270 thousand tons. In general, this is the lowest value in the last 10 years,” the statement said.

As indicated in the ministry, if in 2021 63,5 thousand tons Peas were collected in the Zaporozhye region, in 2022 this figure was zero.

«The same applies to the Kherson and Donetsk regions, where 16,9 thousand tons and 22,4 thousand tons, respectively, were collected in the pre-war year, and in 2022 was zero. Also the production of peas from – for military operations in the Nikolaev area – was significantly reduced instead of 22,4 thousand tons as it was in 2021, there collected 14,9 thousand tons. Similar story with Kharkiv: the harvest of this agroculture there was reduced by 10,9 thousand tons to XNUMX thousand tons," the press service said.
