Brazil's soybean harvest is 84% complete

As of April 11, Brazilian farmers have completed soybean harvesting on an area 84% of plan, according to consultancy AgRural.

During the week, field work in the country progressed by 6%, but the pace of the harvest campaign is still behind the level of the same date last year (86%).

The oilseed harvest is most active in the northeastern states of Bahia and Piauí and the southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul, where farmers have accelerated harvest ahead of heavy rains expected this week.

It should be noted that in its April report, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) left its forecast for the Brazilian soybean crop unchanged, with the estimate still at 155 million tonnes, compared to 162 million tonnes in the 2022/23 marketing year.
