Prices for Sunflowers on the Ukrainian market have been falling since the middle of last month. According to experts, the value of Oilseeds mainly affected by sluggish demand from local oil extraction companies against the background of high residues of finished products in the domestic market.
In addition, the imposed ban on the import of a number of Ukrainian agricultural goods to some EU countries was put under pressure.
“The downward trend was also contributed to a downward trend by some growth in oilseed supply from farmers and some decline in export activity, notably the import ban by Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia until June 5. The downward trend in the export market for unrefined sunflower oil has also put pressure on prices,” the experts pointed out.
So the demand for Sunflower seeds since mid-April by €29-37/ton – until May 4 by €327-376/ton.
