Ukraine reduced oil seed exports by 68 percent in April

As of last month, Ukraine sold about 5,3 million tons of agricultural products on foreign markets, according to the data of the Association «Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Economy» (UKAB). Compared to April 2022, export ratios have fallen by almost a third and have also proved to be the lowest in the last 8 months.

“In April 2023, all agricultural product groups, except vegetable oils, which received the previous volumes, have demonstrated a reduction in export volumes. The largest reduction was observed in the category of oil crops,” say the experts.

According to UKAB, 216,6 thousand tons (-68% by March) of oilseeds (the share of soybean is 77%, sunflower 18%, rapeseed 4%) were sent abroad during the reporting period. Grain exports fell 31% - to 3,9 million tons.

The turnover of cakes by March has decreased almost 1,5 times - to 262,5 thousand tons. Deliveries of edible oil increased by only 1% to 564,2 thousand tons.
