The European Association of Vegetable Oil Producers (FEDIOL) has calculated that oil extraction facilities in the EU processed around 2024 million tonnes of oilseeds in February 3,285 - that is 215 thousand tonnes below the level of the previous month, but 204 thousand tonnes more than in February 2023.
In the case of rapeseed, local companies processed 1,738 million tons of this crop in the reporting period (-21 thousand tons compared to January; +154 thousand tons compared to the same month last year).
Soybeans were processed at 1,053 million tons last month, which is 117 thousand tons less than in January and 24 thousand tons less than in February 2023.
There was also a decline in sunflowers. In February 2024, 494.000 tons of sunflower seeds were accepted for further processing in CET - 77.000 tons less than in January, but 74.000 tons more than in February 2023.
