Polish demonstrators resume the blockade of the largest checkpoint on the border with Ukraine

On December 18th at 15:00 p.m. Kiev time, Polish freight forwarders want to start a new protest on the border with Ukraine near Dorohusk. One of the organizers of the action, Pawel Ozygal, said this on December 17, as RFM24 reported.

“The protest could last until March 8,” he said.

At the same time, Rafa Mekler, another organizer of the blockade of the largest border crossing on the Polish border with Ukraine, explained that the United Village, a Zusaconclusion of Polish farmers, e.gusammen will take part in the protest with the truck drivers.

The demonstrators' renewed demands include immediate compensation for Polish corn growers and direct subsidies for all agricultural producers, a ban on sugar imports from Ukraine and the maintenance of fuel excise tax compensation.

“Despite the ban on grain imports from Ukraine that has been in place for many months, a “tragic situation” has developed on the Polish market due to the uncontrolled influx of grain from Ukraine. The prospects for the 2023 domestic harvest have not improved, and systemic solutions to protect the Polish market are not being implemented,” wrote R. Meckler on the X network.
