At the same time, it is expected that the cultivated areas for Peas by 5%, for Lentils by 8% and for Chickpeas will increase by 17% compared to the previous year. It finds that Canadian farmers will sow more lentils than peas for the seventh time in the last 10 years.

The Canadian Department of Agriculture predicts that grain legumes will have good profit margins compared to other crops. In addition, rapeseed production is under pressure due to lower prices, significant raw material costs and low soil moisture forecast for late autumn.
