After the end of the blockade, almost 5 thousand trucks arrived in Poland from Ukraine

The checkpoints have restored capacity after the blockade was lifted and about five thousand trucks have already entered Poland.

This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister for the Development of Municipalities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov on Facebook.

“After the blockade was lifted on January 17, almost five thousand trucks entered Poland at the three checkpoints “Dorogusk – Yagodin”, “Grebennoye – Rava-Russkaya” and “Korcheva – Krakovec”. The largest border crossing “Yagodin” has increased its capacity again to 600 trucks per day. This number is even higher than before the blockade. The number of trucks leaving via “Krakivets” and “Rava-Russkaya” is increasing,” the report said.

According to Kubrakow, the effectiveness of the solution is currently being tested at the “Nishankovichi – Malhowice” border crossing point, where registration in “eCherga” is temporarily suspended. So far, the border crossing is not at full capacity, but should allow 150 empty trucks per day, as was the case during eCherga's operation. It is important that all checkpoints operate at maximum capacity, the official stressed.

He noted that joint plans to create four additional border crossing points in addition to the existing 14 are being discussed with the Polish side.

As the deputy marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Piotr Pilch, has already reported, the construction of the “Nizhankovychi – Malhowice” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border is being completed and is expected to be put into operation this year, writes Zaxid.net.

Construction of the Nishankowitschi-Malhowice border crossing point began in September 2021. According to the project, five lanes and 16 administrative buildings will be built on the site of the checkpoint. The border crossing point is located entirely within Polish territory. According to preliminary calculations, the facility will be able to serve about 4 thousand cars and 100 buses daily.

It is worth remembering that the “Nizhankowicz – Malhowice” border crossing point has been allowing empty trucks since February 13, 2023. For this purpose, a temporary infrastructure was built there.
