The USDA forecasts a decline in harvest and export of Ukrainian canola

Rapeseed production in Ukraine will be 2023 million tons in 24/3,2, which is 10% lower. Analysts from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) made this forecast in the May report.

"Although rapeseed acreage is concentrated in western Ukraine, far from the combat zone, farmers are expected to favor other crops such as sunflower in 2023/24," the agency said.

It is noted that about 90% of the products are exported from Ukraine in the form of seeds, with 90% due in Europe.

“So Ukraine is less dependent on access to Black Sea ports for rapeseed shipments. Exports are forecast to drop to 2023 million tons in 24/2,8,” the USDA forecasts.
