The largest European railway transporter of Ukrainian grain in Europe has been unveiled


The Austrian OBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG), which is part of the national railway operator OBB, has more than 2022 million tons in March to December 1,2 Grains transported by rail from Ukraine.

"Our top four destinations are: Hungary - 359,09 thousand tons, Germany - 203,82 thousand tons, Italy - 185,572 thousand tons, Austria - 66,385 thousand tons," he wrote on a social network.

Ferst explained that 16.286.000 tons of grain were delivered to Austria through the checkpoint in Dorohusk in Poland, through the Chop border crossing and further through Slovakia — 203.82.000 tons to Germany, while the main deliveries were made through the Zachon checkpoint in Hungary.

He also counted the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Balkans among his other destinations.

As they say in a statement on the RCG website, since March the company has actively started working in the sphere of grain transportation from Ukraine.

“A year ago we could not even imagine that we would be involved in the transportation of products from Ukraine in this way. It was a new territory for us and also for Ukrainian companies. They have exported large volumes before, but not by rail,” the RCG notes.

According to them, the monthly transport volume of RCG grain from Ukraine by rail has increased to 100-150 thousand tons, while up to March it did not exceed 8-11 thousand tons. For a million tons of rail transport, RCG came out in November 2022 and rates itself as the largest European carrier of these Ukrainian products.
