The analytical center “SovEkon” has the forecast for the wheat harvest in Russia in 2022 at 0,6 million Tonnen increased to a new record of 89,2 million tons, reports Interfax.
As indicated, the estimate of the areas under the spring wheat of 12,1 million Hektar increased to 12,65 million hectares against the background of higher cultivated areas. The spring grain yield estimate also increased from 1,7 tons/hectare to 1,82 tons/hectare, thanks to improved weather conditions, mainly in the Volga and Urals.
The improvement in the prospects for the spring wheat harvest has fully offset the growing problems with the winter wheat harvest, which has dropped from 4 tons/hectare to 3,89 tons/hectare due to the dry and hot weather in the south of the Russian Federation.
