The European Commission has extended the import ban on Ukrainian grain and oilseeds to five countries

The European Commission has banned the import of Ukrainian Grains and Oilseeds extended to five border countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) until mid-September. This is reported by the Polish agency RAR, citing sources in Brussels. Previously, the restrictions on the delivery of agricultural products were valid until June 5th.

«The European Commission has approved the EU import ban of Wheat, Corn, Rapeseeds and Sunflower seeds from Ukraine extended to mid-September. The measure came into force on May 2 and replaced the unilateral decisions on the import ban received from the countries bordering Ukraine, including Poland,” the publication reads.

Note that oil and grain crops can still be transported through five Eastern European countries.

On the eve, Moldova also wanted to join Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, but Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Bolya said that "this decision would bring zero results".
