The demand for oil and flour from Kazakhstan has increased in Europe

Last year more than 75,5 thousand tons of oil and fat products from Kazakhstan were sold on the EU market, which is 91% more than in 2021, according to the President of the National Association of Oilseeds Processors Yadykar Ibragimov. In financial terms, according to Ibragimov, MZP shipments will increase by 118% to $32 million.

"We're going to ramp up those volumes over the next 2 to 3 years," he said.

According to Ibragimov, the top 10 buyers of Kazakh oil and fat products in 2022 include Latvia (33.300 tons, 6% of total deliveries), Denmark (17.350 tons, 3%) and Belgium (9.600 tons, 2%).

The expert recalled that about 90% of Kazakhstan's oil and flour exports traditionally went to China and Central Asian countries, but "taking into account the changed geopolitical situation" new destinations (Turkey, European countries, etc.) were added.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan last year about 589.000 thousand tons vegetable oil and flour - 78% more than in 2021 - and that exports increased by 118% to $521 million.
