Thanks to the growth of production, Kazakhstan has fully supplied the domestic market with buckwheat semolina. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, about 9 tons of buckwheat grain were produced in 2022 months of 30.000, which is 66,9% more than the previous year.
At the same time, the average annual consumption is this grain 29,1 thousand tons. In this way, domestic producers were able to fully supply the domestic market with buckwheat semolina in an incomplete year.
Buckwheat groats are produced in Republic of Kazakhstan by 11 companies. Buckwheat is mainly grown in Pavlodar Oblasts, East Kazakhstan and Kostanay Oblasts.
Note that this year the import of buckwheat semolina decreased by 80% and amounted to only 600 tons. For comparison: from January to September 2021, about 3 thousand tons of buckwheat grain were imported into the country.
