Kazakhstan is ready to increase its supplies of agricultural products to Arfrom countries


Kazakhstan is interested in increasing the volume and diversifying the structure of exports of agricultural and industrial goods to the Arfrom countries. This was stated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the first summit “Central Asia + Gulf Cooperation Council of Arfrom States”.

“Our country is among the ten largest Wheat- and flour producers of the world. The experience and skills of the Arfrom partners in the manufacture, processing and certification of "Bio” and “Halal” products are in high demand. K. Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan and the Arfrom countries have every opportunity to significantly increase mutual trade turnover. Kazakhstan is poised to increase its exports to the Gulf States to 100 items worth about $400 million in a very short space of time.

Another focus of the Zusaomen work is the development of the transit and transport sector. According to the President of Kazakhstan, the countries of the region are currently taking active measures to diversify routes and develop various infrastructure and logistics projects. For its part, Kazakhstan pays priority attention to developing the potential of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

“We intend to systematically increase cargo traffic via this route and bring it to 2030 containers per year by 500.000. In addition, Kazakhstan is taking steps to develop the North-South international transport corridor,” Tokayev said.

According to the Kazakh head of state, the investment zusawork to be intensified. According to the UNCTAD report, net investment inflows to Central Asia increased by 2022% to USD 40 billion in 10, of which Kazakhstan accounts for 60%. During the years of independence, the Gulf States have invested around USD 3,6 billion in the Kazakh economy.

“The Economic Council recently established by Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia aims to become an important platform for exploiting the trade and investment potential of the two countries. We are ready to create similar cooperation mechanisms with all member states of the Cooperation Council,” said K. Tokayev.
