Kazakhstan increased wheat exports to China more than 12-fold but prices fell


In the 10 months of the 2022/23 marketing year, Kazakhstan delivered 273,06 thousand tons Wheat to China. This is more than 2022 times the same indicator of 22,38 (XNUMX thousand tons), reports APK-Inform, citing official statistics.

At the same time, this amount is still below the same indicator of the 2020/21 marketing year, as 301,25 thousand tons Grains were shipped to China.

At the same time, Kazakhstan's wheat exports to China in June this year reached 96,3 thousand tons, the highest level in recent years. In June 2022, no shipments were recorded in this direction.

According to QazTrade, the average export price of Kazakh wheat for shipments to China in the first half of 2023 was $270 per tonne, down 13% ($310) from the same indicator last year.

It is worth remembering that since April this year, Kazakhstan has resumed exporting wheat to China using grain trucks. Currently, only wheat is shipped to China at the agreed terminal, and only on certain routes, with one train per day allowed.
