Between January and October of this year, Kazakhstan was able to significantly increase its oil flax export figures in financial terms.
Thus, according to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deliveries of this culture in 10 months of 2022 amounted to $ 292,9 million, which is 75% higher than the level in the same period last year.
On average, exports of agricultural commodities (in value) account for 12,3% flax out. This number is much higher than at Barley (6,4%) and Sunflower seeds (4,8%). Only Wheat (62,4%), which ranks first for deliveries abroad overall, is ahead of oilseeds.
The expert of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan Yevgeny Karabanov explained that in recent years flax has become a very interesting crop for local farmers, as it has very high margins and is not complicated in terms of agricultural technologies of cultivation.
"Cultivated areas have been growing rapidly in recent years, thanks to which Kazakhstan today occupies a leading position in the world in terms of its acreage and production," he said.
As already reported in the Grain Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, citing data from the Committee on State Expenses of the Ministry of Finance, in October Kazakhstan exported 37,6 thousand tons of flaxseed, which is 8,1 thousand tons more than in September.
