The first session of the Kazakh-Belgian Economic Council on promoting bilateral economic relations was held in Astana. The event, organized by Baiterek with the support of JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST, was attended by over 50 representatives from government agencies and companies from both countries.
As reported by the press service of KAZAKH INVEST, Belgium is an important economic partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union. There are a number of government agreements between the two countries to deepen trade and economic developmentusacooperation and for the promotion and mutual protection of investments.
“Economic relations between Kazakhstan and Belgium are developing dynamically. The inflow of investments from Belgium since 2005 has amounted to $11,52 billion, and for many years the Kingdom has occupied a leading position among Kazakh investors. Revenue in 2022 exceeded $514 million, an increase of 19% compared to 2021,” the report said.
Daulet Saktaganov, Regional Director of KAZAKH INVEST for Europe, invited Belgian companies to implement projects in Kazakhstan. According to him, the list of Kazakh-Belgian investment projects so far includes 7 projects with a total value of more than USD 307 million.
