In Ukraine, the increase in wheat prices has picked up again

This week in Ukraine the increasing price dynamics in the food wheat segment continued.

The insufficient volume of supply against the background of sales deterrence by farmers and high competition for high-quality Grains between the buyers supported the prices.

At the same time, the faster price increase was hampered by the decrease in exports of this crop due to a certain weakening of demand from European importers and a reduction in grain shipments by sea due to problems with the power supply of port infrastructure.

Additionally, the increased cost of processing wheat due to frequent power outages and the need to use generators to power production has limited processors' ability to increase commodity purchase prices.

Compared to the end of the previous week, most processors have the purchase prices for Wheat Class 2 and 3 increased by €2,60 to €5,10/ton and as of December 15 are mostly fixed in the ranges of €154 to €192/ton and €151 to €187/ton CRT. It should be noted that minimum demand prices have risen more sharply.
