In Argentina, part of the wheat seed will be lost due to the drought


According to analysts at the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, Argentine farmers will Wheat not harvest from the individual hard-hit areas because of the severe and prolonged drought, Reuters reports.

According to the exchange, the percentage of wheat acreage where soil moisture is classified as satisfactory and low has increased from 29% to 46% in the last month (as of September 15). During this period, too, the condition of cereal crops has deteriorated significantly - 34% of them are in satisfactory and poor condition in mid-September, compared to 18% last month.

The experts estimate the area under wheat in Argentina in 2022/23 at 6,1 million hectares, but do not give a forecast for that grain production .

Recall that Argentina's main wheat-producing regions are experiencing the worst drought of the last 30 years.
