Hungary has not lifted restrictions on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, strict deadlines apply to transit

Hungary, without implementing the decisions of the European Commission, allowed the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through its territory. The main problem is the hard time for transit traffic by rail. This was reported by the Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Works Valery Tkachev.

The set deadline is 7 days, if exceeded, carriers will have to pay a penalty of 100% of the value of the grain in transit. This norm discourages transitors from working through Hungary (especially if they have to carry out grain overload through a broken transit).

According to Valery Tkachev, the Hungarian transport companies RCH and MMV have issued instructions for handling transit cargo. Now 536 wagons with grain, 223 wagons with oil and 59 with butter are waiting at the border with Hungary at the Batevo-Epereshka crossing.

«The MMV carrier does not accept 223 oil trucks and is waiting for the availability of 1435 mm freight cars on its territory to overload the cargo, and in addition requires a guarantee from the transshipment terminals that they will have in 7 days to get the oil through to transport the transit», emphasized Tkachev.
