China increases Australian wheat imports

China has increased wheat imports from Australia this year despite strained political relations between the countries, reports Yahho!Finance.

In particular, the proportion of Australian wheats reached 10% of the total import volume by China in the 2022 months of 63, while that share was only 28% in the same period last year and 2020% in 15, according to the Chief Customs Bureau of the People's Republic of China.

China imported 4,97 million tons of wheat from Australia between January and October, the highest figure since 2004.

However, it should be noted that relations between the countries have improved somewhat recently, especially after the recent meeting between Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Despite the trade restrictions in place, China is still Australia's largest export market.
