Bulgaria can harvest a good wheat crop this year at the level of last year's record, which allows Grains actively exporting to foreign markets, Reuters reports.
In particular, according to the forecasts of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture, the wheat harvest in the country in 2022 may reach 6,5-6,7 million tons, depending on the weather conditions.
Recall that the wheat harvest in Bulgaria in 2021 reached a record 7,1 million tons, compared to only 4,7 million tons in 2020 and 6,1 million tons in 2019.
At the same time, on condition of domestic consumption of wheat in the country at 1,5 million tons per year, Bulgaria has about 5 million tons Wheat exported from last year's harvest. Therefore, taking into account the harvest forecasts, wheat exports may reach at least 4 million tons.
