A state of emergency is declared in five regions of Italy due to drought


A state of emergency has been declared in 5 regions in northern Italy due to severe drought, the American Chronicles reports.

December of this year in the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Venice and Piedmont and in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

It is also noted that the Italian government will allocate 36,5 million euros to overcome the consequences of adverse weather conditions.

According to the country's largest agricultural association, Coldiretti, the drought is threatening more than 30% of the agricultural land and half of the livestock in the Padana Plain region.
