Ukraine exported about 120 thousand tons of high-oleic acid in the period from September to December last year Sunflower oil, reports the agency “APK-Inform”. It notes that the increase to the level of the first 4 months of the 2022/23 financial year was 18%.
According to experts, deliveries increased against the background of brisk demand from China, where supply almost tripled - to just over 21 thousand tons.
“According to the results of the 2022/23 agricultural year, China became the leader among importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil, displacing Spain, and in the current season it still holds the first place,” – says the report.
It is noted that from September to December exports of the Ukrainian product to Spain, which is in second place, increased by 22%, and to Romania, which closes the top-3 ranking, at once in 2,6 times – up to 20 thousand tons in each specified region.
“It should be noted, however, that exports of high oleic sunflower oil to the European Union fell by 2023% overall in the four months of the 24/13 season,” the experts explained.
