Ukraine exported 47.000 tons of sunflower oil overland in February

Ukraine has exported about 342.000 tons of agro-industrial products by road since the beginning of February, Spike Brokers analysts report. They are seeing an increase in shipments of more than 40% compared to January.

According to their estimates, sunflower oil and sugar accounted for more than a quarter of total sales in the reporting period - 47 tons and 000 tons, respectively.

“Due to the strikes on the border with Poland, the routes and flows of goods have changed,” said the experts. – The routes of grains, oilseeds and legumes will be relocated to the borders with Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. The flow of goods at the border crossings with Poland varies between 1000 and 2000 tons per day, with up to 10.000 tons being handled.”

At the same time, work at the other border crossings with Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova is being carried out without disruption, experts assure.

“Freight rates to Eastern Europe have fallen as the supply of cars has increased and the number of shipments across the border with Poland has decreased,” according to Spike Brokers.
