Last week, purchase prices for Ukrainian sunflower seeds increased against the background of rising sunflower oil prices on the external market. Now sunflower seeds on the domestic market cost 15000-15500 UAH/ton including VAT upon delivery to the factory, according to data from the GrainTrade electronic grain exchange.
“Many processors paid a higher price for quick deliveries, but at the end of the week they reduced the price after the dollar rate fell in the interbank market,” the experts explain.
They also note that the rise in oil prices led to an increase in the price of palm and soybean oil, supporting the price of sunflower oil, which remains the cheapest oil on the market.
By the way, from March 14 to 20, Ukraine exported 178 thousand tons of this product (+67% for the week). Since the start of the season, deliveries have already reached 3,6 million tons of the forecast 6 million tons.
