Poland will have an oilseed processing plant for the Biofuel sector


A new rapeseed processing plant will be built in the Polish city of Kętrzyn. The plant will have a capacity of up to 500 thousand tons per year and Rapeseed oil for further use in the production of Bioproduce fuels. The construction of the plant is being carried out by the state energy company ORLEN.

Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2024 and be completed by mid-2026.

“We have an ambitious strategy to develop our Biofuel production. This commitment underlines the ORLEN Group's ambition to be a leading player in the regional Biofuel sector,” commented Daniel Obitek, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ORLEN.

As a reminder: at the end of last year around 3,6 million tonnes of rapeseed were threshed in Poland.
