Poland is forced to lift the embargo on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products

Poland will be forced to lift the embargo on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products into the country and will look for other mechanisms in trade with Ukraine. This was stated by the country's Minister of Agriculture, Czeslaw Seckerski, reports Business Insider.

“The embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products must be lifted. Although it calmed the situation on the Polish market to some extent, it was poorly received politically. The European Commission and Ukraine are protesting,” the minister admitted.
At the same time, Seckerski pointed out that other ideas were “on the table” – for example, licensing products coming to Poland.

“In the current difficult situation, we want to find a way that is acceptable to all parties involved in order to protect ourselves from the negative consequences of importing agricultural products from Ukraine. We are analyzing and consulting internally, in particular, the mechanism of licensing for the export of agricultural products to Poland proposed by the Ukrainian side,” the minister said, adding that in his opinion such a solution could be acceptable “with appropriate support from the European Commission.” .
