Kazakhstan has reduced its barley exports to Iran by more than 10 times

Exports of Kazakh barley to Iran have declined significantly in the current season. This is reported by APK-Inform, citing official statistics.

In the five months of the 2023/24 marketing year (September to February), Kazakhstan delivered only 28,67 thousand tons of barley to Iran. This is 10,6 times less than the same indicator for the last season (303,36 thousand tons).

In February this year, exports of Kazakh barley in this direction amounted to 12,6 thousand tons (against 26,7 thousand tons in the same period last year).

The situation is even worse when it comes to wheat exports from Kazakhstan to Iran: in five months of the current season, no deliveries of this product were recorded in the official statistics. During the same period of the 2022/23 marketing year, Iran purchased 101,4 thousand tons of Kazakh grain.
