Ukrainian corn has become cheaper in almost all export sectors due to a purchase freeze in Odessa ports

Last week, most export sectors from Ukraine were dominated by the dynamics of falling prices for Corn.

This market congestion is caused by an increase in the supply of grain towards border crossings and Danube ports, since most merchants in the ports of Greater Odessa with low activity are signing new contracts with importers.

This is primarily due to the total uncertainty about the further operation of the grain corridor, the inactive admission of new loading ships and, accordingly, accumulation of large stocks in the port area and the inability to unload the railway that literally appeared on the access routes. The faster cheapening of Corn is determined by the active export rate, which is low grain harvest from 2022 and the question of possible wintering in the fields, which has a negative impact on quality. In addition, the corn harvest in the EU in 2022/23 may become minimal in 15 years, which will increase the demand of importers of these countries for Ukrainian Grains strengthened.
