Serbia has lifted the export ban on grain and sunflower oil

Serbia has decided to lift the export ban on Wheat, Corn and sunflower oil, which has been in force since March 10 this year. This decision was made at the country's government session on July 21, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia announced.

After analyzing the current situation and the volume of wheat stocks in the country, it was decided to extend the export bans for Wheat and Corn to cancel. Free exports will remain in effect until the autumn, when a new assessment of the status and stocks of key grains will be carried out and further steps will be taken.

Regarding sunflower oil, the decision was made to authorize the export of four thousand Tonnen refined bottled product met at the meeting.

The Serbian government decided at the beginning of July to buy 131 thousand tons of wheat from the new harvest from domestic producers and put it in a food reserve.

It is also reported that the ministry is forecasting the country's wheat harvest at 3 million tons this year. This is slightly worse than last year (3,5 million tons), but it is enough to cover Serbia's domestic grain demand, which is about 1,5 million tons per year.
