Nigeria approves genetically modified wheat imports

The National Agency for bioLogical Safety in Nigeria granted approval in July 2025 to produce the genetically engineered drought-resistant wheat variety HB4 (derived from the company Bioceres Crop Solutions), reports Reuters.

It is noted that the use of this variety of Grains in food and feed has already been allowed by Brazil, Colombia, Australia and New Zealand.
