The average wholesale price for Wheat in India in December 2021 was 2212 rupees ($26,80) per hundredweight, according to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, rising to 2022 rupees ($2721) per hundredweight in November 32,97, Newsroomodisha reports.
«The purchase of wheat in the 2022-2023 Rabi market season was 187,92 lakh tons (18,8 million tons), lower than in 2021-22 — 433,44 lakh tons (43,3 million tons) that the market price for wheat during this period was higher than the value set by MSP," the statement said.
Wheat MSP has been constant since April 2022 and stands at RS 2015 ($24,41), according to the ministry. Previously the MSP was Rs 1975 ($23,93) per hundredweight.
