More than two dozen leaders of states and international organizations took part in the international founding summit of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, which was held in Kyiv on November 26, the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine announced.
The participants were Presidents, Prime Ministers and other EU leaders, France, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Slovenia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Qatar, representatives from other countries and the UN structures, NATO, the US Agency for International Development and other international development funds.
As previously mentioned, the program is supported by the new International Coordinating Group for Hunger Prevention (ICGPH), which includes representatives from governments, businesses and international partners who can have a direct impact on the nutritional needs of millions of people around the world.
After the results of the summit, a joint declaration was adopted, which has an open status. The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak has been appointed coordinator of the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine program.
According to the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, at the end of the summit around 150 million Dollar collected, which is used to purchase food for starving countries in Africa and Asia.
He added that the Grain from Ukraine program plans to send at least 60 ships from Ukrainian ports by the end of next spring.
Ukraine, as one of the guarantors of world food security, will continue to make an important contribution. Despite war and obstacles. Ukraine will fulfill its export obligations for the supply of Grains and other agricultural products to the world market.
