On June 21st, Moldova will hold a “Warning Protest” by farmers initiated by the “Farm Force” association.
As stated in the statement by the organizers, if there are protests, they will demand “an immediate return to farmers of the full amount of excise duties on all diesel fuels purchased by farmers in 2022, with the de-bureaucratization of the compensation mechanism”.
The requirements also include “partial compensation of the costs of diesel fuel, fertilizers and pesticides due to the huge price increases in the last six months; Avoiding a deficit in the diesel market and limiting the wholesale commercial markup for oil companies to 8 cents per liter; Release of wheat exports or the purchase of at least 100 thousand Tonnen Wheat with local farmers in the state reserve”.
