According to a forecast by USDA analysts, the global production of Sunflower seeds increase to 49,2 million tons compared to the previous estimate of 50,3 million tons, which is however significantly inferior to the 2021/22 result (57,3 million tons). An increased adjustment was made for the Russian Federation – up to 15,5 (14,5; 15,5) million tons.
In addition, the forecast for world oil processing was also increased to 46,7 (45,3; 46,5) million tons due to increased adjustments for EU to 10,3 (9,9; 10) million tons, Russian Federation to 14,3 (13,5; 14,1) million tons and Argentina to 3,5 (3,4; 3,4) million tons.
The forecast for the global export of sunflowers in 2022/23 left the analysts unchanged overall – at 3,6 (3,63; 3,9) million tons, while oil reserves could fall slightly in the new season – to 6,9 (7; 4) million tons. At the same time, the stock forecast for Ukraine was reduced to 8,2 (3,4; 4) million tons and Argentina to 4,8 (626; 726) thousand tons, while for the EU it was reduced to 376 (0,8; 0,54 ), 1) million tons and the Russian Federation was increased to 15 (1,18; 1,13) million tons.
