Refinitiv Commodities Research analysts have forecast for the wheat production in the EU in 2023/24 to 135,2 million Tonnen, that of 22 million Hektar to be harvested, and to 8,5 million tonnes Durum wheat published with 2,2 million hectares.
It is noted that weather conditions in EU countries and soil moisture in general are favorable for sowing winter wheat. Above-average temperatures are expected in the wheat-growing regions of Europe in the coming weeks. Warm weather conditions, rainfall levels near or above average and the predicted absence of extreme cold in December and February are favorable for the development of winter crops.
The experts at Refinitiv are also forecasting one for 2023/24 canola production in the EU at 19,7 million tons at a oilseed area of 5,9 million hectares.
