The EU allocates 1 billion euros to support Ukrainian grain exports


The EU is mobilizing 1 billion Euro for the export of Grains from Ukraine “On Solidarity Paths”. The corresponding statement was published by the European Commission, the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine said on November 2.

Specifically, the EU Commission will urgently provide grants of 250 million euros for the development of export-oriented "Paths of Solidarity". This reduces waiting times and improves traffic at border crossings and access routes.

In addition, 50 million euros will be mobilized via the Connecting Europe Facility Fund (CEF) for the expansion of the infrastructure required to further increase the capacity of the solidarity routes.

By the end of 2023, the European Investment Bank wants to invest up to 300 million euros in projects that meet the goals of the "Paths of Solidarity". The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will invest the same amount in 2022-2023.

Another 100 million Dollar come from the World Bank. As Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky noted, despite Russia blocking Ukrainian agricultural exports, he managed to open a new road of economic life through the territory of the European Union, commenting on these decisions.
