The condition of corn seeds in France is the worst in 10 years

On August 15 only 50% of the corn varieties in France in good and excellent condition (-3% per week), which according to the FranceAgriMer-Monitoring is the lowest value for the current season since 2011.

Experts point out that the deterioration of the grain harvest was more moderate than in previous weeks, suggesting that last weekend's rain and low temperatures were able to reduce drought stress on plants earlier. Nonetheless, the proportion of plants in good and excellent condition fell by 30 percentage points in one month.

The year before in France, by mid-August, 91% of the maize seeds were in good and excellent condition.
