In August, the Canadian Department of Agriculture and Food (AAFC) released the forecast for the wheat production of the country in 2022/23 by 0,8 million Tonnen per month increased – to 34,5 million tons (+ 12,8 million tons per year), resulting in a higher grain yield than expected.
The forecast for the wheat harvest of Status was also increased by a similar volume - to 6,3 million tons (+ 3,6 million tons per year).
Due to the expected increase in production, the forecast for wheat exports from Canada increased by 0,6 million tons to 23 million tons, while the country only 2021 million tons in 22/15 due to the low harvest and Durum wheat by 0,6 million tons to 5 million tons (in the previous season 2,7 million tons).
The total ending inventories for Wheat are forecast at 6,8 million tonnes compared to 4,2 million tonnes.
In addition, the Ministry also increased the forecast for the barley production to 9,4 (+ 0,3) million tons (same period last year: 7 million tons) and its exports to 3,5 (+ 0,4) million tons (same period last year: 2 million tons).
