Australia reduced exports of feed barley and increased shipments of millet in August


The country has exports of Feed barley Slightly reduced in August but millet supply increased, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Grain Central reports.

Notably, Australia shipped 495,6 thousand tons of feed barley to overseas markets during the period, compared with 497,9 thousand tons last month. The main volumes were exported to Taiwan – 322,6 (222,7) thousand tons, Qatar – 52,5 thousand tons and New Zealand – 16 (6,3) thousand tons.

The export of Millet increased by 13% per month – to 251,4 thousand tons, of which 241 thousand tons were shipped to China.

It is also worth noting that in August Australia increased exports of malting barley to 106,5 thousand tons compared to 93 thousand tons in the previous month. The market operators found that India imported Australian barley for the first time in August after lengthy negotiations – 483 tons.

In addition, in August Australia exported malting barley to Mexico – 61,9 thousand tons against 30 thousand tons in July, New Zealand – 16 thousand tons and Peru – 13,2 (15,9) thousand tons.
