According to the results of trading on August 9, the wheat prices on the СВОТ exchange strengthened slightly – to 286,5 Dollar (+1,5 dollars) per Tonne. Prices were hit by the slowdown in the winter wheat harvest as well as the low harvest of spring wheat in the USA unterstützt.
In particular, how the results of the USDA-Crop Tour on August 7th, that was it winter cereals in the country was harvested on 86% of the planned areas (+4% per week), while in the same period last year it was at 94%. Harvesting of spring wheat was carried out by 9% of the planned area by the reporting date, which is significantly lower than last year (35%) and on average for 5 years (19%) lies. Experts also noted a deterioration in spring wheat sowings – on August 7, 64% of them were in good and excellent condition (-6% per week).
At the same time, pressure on prices was exerted by the gradual increase in shipments of agro-products from ports of Ukraine.
Under the influence of this factor, wheat futures on the Euronext exchange fell slightly on August 8 – to €341 (-1,5)/ton.
