Kazakhstan increased exports of sunflower oil by 20 percent in the first quarter of this year


The Kazakh exporters of Sunflower oil increased sales of sunflower oil abroad in monetary terms in the first quarter of this year (January-March).

According to data from QazTrade, around $80,6 million was earned from oil sales during the period, up 20% from the same months of 2022 ($67,2 million). This group has a 14,3% share in the structure of non-commodity agricultural exports.

Exports of vegetable oils and fats that are produced as manufacturing waste increased by 85% - from $11 million to $20,4 million. The share of total exports of non-raw agricultural products was 3,6%.

Shipments of waste from Legumes increased the most - 2,7 times, from $12,1 million to $33,3 million (share -5,9%).

Exporters also managed to increase pasta shipments – by 5,5%, from $18,6 million to $19,6 million (share – 3,5%).

At the same time, sales of all-purpose flour by 10% – from $172,1 million to $155 million. This product has a relatively large share in the total exports of Kazakhstan - 27,4%.
