Experts have upgraded forecasts for soybean production and lowered estimates for Brazil's corn crop


In the September report, Confrom experts forecast the 2021/22 soybean harvest in Brazil by 1,5 million Tonnen per month to 125,6 million tons from 41,5 million Hektar elevated. The previous season, the country harvested 139,4 million tonnes of oilseeds from 39,5 million hectares.

The forecast for the export of Soybeans 2021/22 was also increased – by 2 million tons per month to 77,2 million tons, which is still below the result of the 2020/21 season (86,1 million tons). Domestic oil consumption is estimated at 51,5 million tons (+2 million tons per year) and final stocks at 6,2 million tons (-2,7).

At the same time, the experts made the forecast for the Brazilian corn production in 2021/22 reduced by 1,4 million tonnes per month to 113,3 million tonnes from 21,6 million hectares (2020 million tonnes harvested from 21 million hectares in 87,1/19,9), reflecting a downward revision of the Safrinha harvest is attributed – to 86,1 million tons. The estimate of the first grain harvest remained unchanged and is 25 million tons.

The forecast for domestic grain consumption was reduced to 76,5 million tons (-0,6 million tons per month; +4,2 million tons per year), exports to 37 (-0,5; +6,2) million tons, ending stocks at 9,5 (-0,3; +1,7) million tons.
