Slovak freight forwarders blocked a checkpoint on the border with Ukraine for an hour

The Union of Road Transporters of Slovakia (UNAS) has blocked the Vishne-Nemetske border crossing on the Slovak side, reports Teraz.

The action lasted for an hour. In this way, Slovaks expressed their support for the protesting Polish freight forwarders. By the way, Poles also took part in the campaign.

“We will close the road for one hour as a warning. Our goal is to support our Polish colleagues as well as all freight forwarders in the EU. We will call on the European Commission to immediately introduce transport permits for Ukrainian freight forwarders, as European companies cannot compete with them,” said UNAS President Stanislav skala.

Slovak freight forwarders are threatening that they will completely block the border with Ukraine if Brussels does not resolve the situation.

We remind that yesterday it became known that UNAS turned to the Slovak Ministry of Transport about the problem with Ukrainian freight forwarders and threatened to block the border.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Ministry for the Development of Municipalities, Territories and Infrastructure zusaYesterday we held talks with the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the European Commission's Transport and Mobility Directorate about opening the border crossings.

The meeting took place at the Dorohusk border crossing point. The parties worked out common solutions, which were rejected by the Polish demonstrators.

It has now become known that the European Commission may initiate criminal proceedings against Poland if the Polish authorities do not solve the problem of blockades at the border crossings with Ukraine.
