Since July 1, the Polish border guard has suspended the passage of Ukrainian trucks without international transport permits. This was reported in the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
“From 00:00. 01.07.2024 by the Polish side at the checkpoints suspended admission to entry and exit from / to the Republic of Poland Ukrainian trucks without permits for international freight transport (permit or book ECMT),” – stated in the message.
Checkpoints on other sections of the border are operating as usual.
Poland has informed the European Commission about the situation with the suspension of the passage of Ukrainian trucks, which has already intervened in the situation and is trying to influence the solution of the problem.
This was announced by Deputy Minister for Development of Municipalities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach. He stressed that no permits are required for bilateral transportation.
"No permits are required for bilateral transportation. The agreement on liberalization of freight transport between Ukraine and the EU entered into force on the day of its signing. That is, already on June 20. There is a transition period until July 10, which will allow carriers to adapt to the new rules," he wrote on Facebook.
According to him, this is known to the Polish side, in particular to the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure.
“Through official channels, the Polish side, like all other EU member states, was informed about the update of the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union,” said Derkach.
He added that now it was only a matter of internal communication on the Polish side, and Ukraine had already turned to the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure.
“Our colleagues assure us that they are trying to resolve the issue with the customs service,” said the deputy minister.
