Germany exported a record amount of biodiesel last year – over 2,88 million Tonnen, as can be seen from the data on the website of the federal association UFOP (Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants). Accordingly, shipments increased by more than 5% (from 2,726 million tons) to the 2022 level.
The largest buyer of these products from Germany in the reporting period was the Netherlands (1,21 million tons compared to 1,169 million tons in 2022), where the large trading port of Rotterdam is located.
There is also a keen interest in German biofuels in the USA, where exports increased 1,5 times to 444.000 tons. In contrast, deliveries to Belgium, which completes the top three importers, fell – from 636 to 382 thousand tons.
Poland (302.000 tons), Sweden (114.000 tons) and France (104.000 tons) are also among the most important buyers.
